Well, I’m not going to lie to you. That sounds like a mouthful, but this is also an incredible way to serve up fresh, healthy, and hearty beef for dinner. You can make your own fideo, or simply use my recipe.
First, you take the ground beef you want to use, slice it into tiny bite-sized cubes, and boil it down to your desired consistency. Once it’s almost cooked, you add your onions, garlic, and pepper, along with the spices you want. Pour it all into a casserole dish and put it all in the oven while you add the cream of mushroom soup you want to layer on top.
If you’re making fideo with ground beef, I recommend using a cast iron pan, which is really easy to work with and will give you great results. It’s not as easy to cook in the microwave though, but you can cook fideo quicker in the oven.
As you put your vegetables in the oven, you might want to add your rice, in case you want to add extra heat to the whole thing.
If you’re going to add rice, make sure you use a long-handled spoon to scrape the excess liquid from the bottom of the pan. And try to make it look like you’re adding hot water to the rice rather than stirring it.
