This soup is only available during the day, so that’s why it’s called “panes rellenos.” It’s a soup made from rice, beans, cheese, and spices so that the whole dish can be made at the same time. It’s a one-pot meal that’s perfect for a lazy Sunday evening.
I know its Monday, but I just had to talk about this soup for real. The other ingredient I didnt want was onion. Onion makes me nervous, I have seen it in movies and in books, but Id rather not mix anything with it and end up with something terrible. My husband is a great cook and would be the first to tell you that he doesnt usually have a problem with onions, but the other day Id finished off this pan of soup for him and didnt realize that he had used onion in one of the ingredients.
It seems like there are a lot of people out there who like to add onions to their recipes, but I dont have a lot of experience with this. I can’t really say why this is a problem for me since my kitchen is not a restaurant kitchen, but I dont like onions, but I also dont eat onion-based products. When I say I dont like onions, I am not referring to people with high blood pressure or heart conditions.
The only onions I consume are those that come straight from the farmer. I don’t know about you, but I think the onions I know are the ones that come from the farmers themselves. I think that’s why you see them in so many different dishes.
